Lynch Station man arrested in connection with possible shooting incident

The Campbell County Sheriff’s Office has announced the arrest of a man who interfered with their investigation of a reported shooting on Tuesday, June 21.

The CCSO reported receiving “a call for a possible self-inflicted gunshot wound at 204 Wileman Rd. A complainant advised the dispatch center that they heard what sounded like a gunshot in the area.”

Deputies arrived at the scene, shortly followed by Jessi Kendrick in a white pick-up truck. According to the deputies’ report, “Kendrick jumped out of the driver's side of the vehicle and began running toward the deputies, yelling and screaming. Kendrick would not adhere to the deputies’ orders and was taken into custody.

Jessi Kendrick, 44, of Lynch Station was charged with reckless handling of a firearm and obstruction of justice, the CCSO reported. During the investigation, the officers seized a firearm. Kendrick was taken to the Amherst Adult Detention Center.
