246 The Main

Your local theater, 246 The Main Cultural Arts Theatre is bringing two wonderful holiday shows to Brookneal. December 3 and 4 at 7 p.m. and December 5 at 2 p.m. they are presenting “The Right Place.” This is a traditional original Christmas play written by theater owner, Donnalynn Davis, with original music by James Scalia. It was first produced in 2010 at Childrey Baptist Church. Mrs. Davis felt is was a great time to bring it to 246, getting back to the true meaning of Christmas. It is about a small southern town cafe’ at the holiday season and promises to warm your heart as a cast of  fifteen people from Brookneal, Chatham, Gladys, Virgilina and Rustburg bring the story to life. Tickets are $12.

The second play is “It’s a Wonderful Life” in the form of a radio show. Davis admits when she went to see it in Danville last year produced by Smokestack Theatre Company, she did not expect to enjoy it, since it is such an iconic film and her favorite. However, she was totally delighted and wanted to bring the joy of her experience to Brookneal. That same company from Danville is producing the show in Brookneal. There will be only two shows in one day on December 18 at 2 p.m. and again at 7 p.m. “You will not want to miss this as part of your holiday festivities,” Davis said about the show. Tickets are $15.

Tickets for both shows can be obtained by stopping by 246 The Main, by calling the 246 box office or searching online at lynchburgtickets.com.

“Merry Christmas from 246 The Main and The Main Act Theatre Troupe,” Davis said. “We thank you for your support!”
