Given the recent news about the effective cancellation of Halloween due to current Social Distancing guidelines, KD Country has partnered with Harley-Davidson of Lynchburg and All Home Maintenance of Central Virginia to save Halloween by giving away free, 5-foot-long candy delivery chutes to local residents to allow kids to be able to maintain the annual Halloween tradition of Trick-or-Treating, while still keeping a safe Social Distance from the people passing out candy.

When asked about their motivation for the event, Dave Hoehne, General Manager of DJ Media, parent company of ‘105.5 KD Country’ and ‘102.1 The Groove’ said, “We were discussing the many changes we all have had to endure due to COVID-19, and we were discussing the cancellation of the various Halloween events this year and wanted to come up with a way to allow kids to enjoy the Halloween holiday while still staying safe.” Jeff Raymond, on-air personality and sales and marketing associate said, “With on-line learning and limited social interaction, kids have been subjected to so much change with COVID. I’d heard people talking about using rain gutters as sort of a candy delivery system and decided that giving them away would be a good way to help keep the tradition of ‘Trick-or-Treating’ that we all enjoyed as kids alive during a time of necessary Social Distancing.”

The ‘Halloween Gutter Giveaway’ will take place Saturday, October 24th, 2020 from Noon to 2 p.m. in the parking lot of Harley-Davidson of Lynchburg at 20452 Timberlake Road in Lynchburg, VA during a live radio broadcast sponsored by All Home Maintenance and Repair of Central Virginia.
