The Brookville Bees’ varsity football team continued their stellar beginning to the season with a 68-14 dismantling of Jefferson Forest Friday night. The Bees set a school scoring record while amassing 565 yards of total offense. The Cavaliers would take an early 14-13 lead thanks to a TD reception by Cody Jackson late in the first quarter. But Brookville would dominate the rest of the way, led by running back Tayshaun Butler, who rushed for a game-high 139 yards and two TD’s. He also added an interception return for another score. Silas Rucker ran for 97 yards and a TD. Quarterback Drake McDaniel had an outstanding performance as well, passing for 175 yards and running for 73 with four touchdowns as the Bees rolled to a blowout win.
Brookville (3-0) will clash with LCA (3-0) in a high-profile matchup at LU’s Williams Stadium on Friday night at 7:30 p.m.
