Altavista On Track

The race drew runners from near and far.

Last week the 15th annual Giblet Jog 5k saw record turnout.

It was the first time the race was held in-person since 2019. A total of 335 runners signed up for the race, which takes place on Thanksgiving morning in English Park. It is hosted by Altavista On Track (AOT) and also presented by The Standard Insurance and the town of Altavista. All proceeds from the event, including donations and registration fees, go towards furthering AOT’s economic development efforts.

The course follows the Staunton River on foot paths through the park. Runners aged 5 to 75 completed the race. The largest portion of runners travelled from within roughly an hour of Altavista, though significant amounts came from other parts of Virginia and even North Carolina or further.
