The Lady Lancers of Amherst county traveled to Rustburg Monday night for a Seminole District showdown on the softball diamond.  The scene was set for a close game and, as expected, the game turned into a tough match.

Rustburg was up 2-0 deep in the seventh inning with 1 out and 2 on base, when Amherst hit a shot off the center field wall. Emily Coats grabbed the ball and relayed it to Aysia Jiovenetta who threw to Carly Hudnall for the out at home plate.

Eden Bigham then did what she does best, striking out the next batter to end the game.  Eden Bigham threw 7 innings. She struck out 15 batters and gave up 3 hits and 1 walk.

Emily Coats went 2 for 3 at the plate, Carly Hudnall went 1 for 3 and scored 1 run, Aysia Jiovenetta went 1 for 3 and had 1 RBI and 1 run and Amanda Lawhorn went 1 for 3 with 1 RBI.
