Red Devils kick off strong start to soccer season Rustburg varsity

The Rustburg varsity boys’ soccer season defeated district power LCA and tied another perennial leader, E.C. Glass, while getting off to a 5-0-1 start to the 2019 campaign and taking the Seminole District lead. And they achieved all that by the first of April, demonstrating that their team is no April Fool’s joke; the Reds are the real deal.

A non-conference season opener rivalry win 8-1 at Altavista set the Devils’ season off to a strong start. Jacob Moses earned the hat trick with three goals. Nate Casola, Hayden Wright, Kaleb Harris, Daniel Gonzalez, and Alex Elena all contributed goals, and Lance Bell and Elena provided assists. Senior goalkeeper Michael Moore made five saves.
