Saturday night will be a fun time for all at the Booker Building at English Park in Altavista as Strong Style Pro wrestling presents a night of action with 100% of the net profits going to help fund Altavista Police Department’s “Shop With a Cop” program that gives local kids the chance to go Christmas shopping with a police officer.

“Last December we were able to take 42 children and spend $125 each,” said Police Chief Thomas Merricks. He continued, “The children are chosen by AES staff and Police Department staff based on needs, whether a need be financial or if they are in need of positive interaction with police officers or other reasons.”

This is the second fundraiser Strong Style Pro has done with the APD this year. Earlier, they raised money for the National Night Out event that was a huge success this summer.

K and D Dawgs food truck will be on hand selling hot dogs, hamburgers, and bologna burgers.

The show will be held at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday with doors open by 7 p.m.

Billy Warlock, owner of Strong Style Pro, brings 25 years of experience to his work. Warlock has said that many of the wrestlers are “more than willing to give their time so more money goes in the pot. The police have really tough jobs and we would like to help them out as much as they have helped us,” said Warlock.

Tickets for the wrestling event are $10 at the door, with children from 5-12 years old half price. Children under the age of 5 are free.
