Twenty-three players participated in the Tour’s first tournament of the 2019 season today at Tuscarora Country Club. Once again, the beautiful layout of the 1957 Gene Hamm layout humbled the field as it has only given up two rounds in the seventies and thirty-one birdies in the past three years to the group. Today’s group had one round in the seventies and twelve birdies on this sixty-degree breezy day.
Low gross round of the day was turned in by Mark Dill who was playing in the A Flight. Dill carded three birdies on his way to a 78 finish. Second in the flight was David Turner at 84; who won the flight’s low net prize at 74.
The B Flight was led by Tom Simmons with his one birdie round of 86. Only a stroke behind him was the flight’s low net winner Bob Foyle. Foyle also carded one birdie in route to his 87 and net 72 finish.
