According to various reports, two members of the Evington Volunteer Fire Department sustained serious injuries in an ATV accident of Saturday evening just before 6:30. Evington VFD Chief W.T. Hall and department member Derrick Johnson sustained injuries when their ATV overturned along Halseys Bridge Road, off Rte. 24.

The two firefighters were taken to Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital for treatment. Their injuries were described as severe. The incident remains under state police investigation.
