A man was killed when an explosion rocked the mobile home he was in on Blue Ridge Drive, on Wednesday night. A neighbor said the explosion rocked her home when she called 9-1-1 around 9 p.m..
The single-wide mobile home was engulfed in flames when the Gretna Fire Department and Volunteer Rescue Squad arrived.
The home was destroyed and being investigated by the Pittsylvania County Sheriff’s Office.
His body was taken to the Medical Examiner's Office in Roanoke for positive identification and cause of death.
There was no one else there when the explosion and fire occurred.
