Campbell County Sheriff’s Office would like to thank the public as well as the tireless efforts of multiple law enforcement agencies and professionals for the apprehension and arrest of the two suspects responsible for the burglary of the Dollar General retail store located in Brookneal.

The following subjects were arrested, and are being held in the Halifax County Regional Jail:

*Shyheim Marquay Williams; age 21

*Tyquanta Aon Moorman; age 23.

They have also been charged with other armed robberies in the area.

According to Halifax County Sheriff’s Office, they have been charged with three counts of armed robbery, three counts of burglary, and three counts of use of a firearm in the commission of a felony.

The other charges come from a robbery of the Dollar General off Chatham Road on August 11 and the County Express in Volens on July 11.

Both are being held at Blue Ridge Regional Jail without bond and more charges pending.

Brookneal Police Chief Ricky Baldwin is pleased that the arrests came so quickly following the holdup in town on September 29. “Officer Stacy Warf had been working that night and had just clocked out to drive home when he got the call a few miles outside of Brookneal,” explains the chief. “He turned around and came back. Myself and Officer Clif Mason were off that night, but we came to help investigate. I had been afraid that the Brookneal Dollar General would get robbed since there had been so many robberies at other Dollar Generals in Halifax County.”

In a press release, the Campbell County Sheriff’s Office wishes to commend the efforts and collaboration of its deputies, along with the Town of Brookneal Police Department and the Halifax County Sheriff’s Office staff.
