The Annual Marathon conducted by the North Halifax Volunteer Fire Department will be held Saturday, Sept. 7, 10:45 a.m. - 8 p.m. The event is free of charge with barbecue pork and chicken plates plus desserts sold as fundraisers.
Each plate also contains slaw, baked beans, and a roll. Hotdogs with all the fixings, homemade pies and desserts, and homemade Brunswick Stew will be sold.
Activities include: inflatables, face painting, kiddie train, Halifax County Sheriff’s Department Drug Prevention Display, and Sentara Halifax Regional Health System presents free cholesterol, glucose, and blood pressure checks.
A Cub Cadet Zero Force LX 54 inch deck mower will be raffled.
A handmade quilt by the North Halifax Quilt Ladies will be raffled.
WKDE Radio 105.5 FM will be broadcasting.
There will be antique cars, crafts, vendors, and the arrival of Centra One. Bring your lawn chair and stay all day!

5:30 - 6 p.m.: “We’ve Got Rhythm” Dance Academy
6 - 8 p.m.: Jeb Young & the Red Bank Ramblers featuring Cecil Hazelwood
There is no admission charge to this full day of fun. All are invited to join and support the fire department!
