New Bethel United Methodist Church, located at 7061 Dews Road near Hurt, invites the community to a special concert and fundraiser/food drive for Donation-A-Week-Neighbors (DAWN) on Sunday, Jan. 18, at 6 p.m.
The Rick Webb Family from Colfax, N.C., will lead the service with songs of praise and encouragement.
Rick and Phyllis Webb began their musical career in 1978 with the internationally acclaimed vocal group ReGeneration, which later became The Voices of Liberty, host group at EPCOT Center’s American Pavilion. Rick Webb was half of the male duo Miles and Webb for many years, working with numerous evangelistic ministries. Later, Rick and Phyllis Webb were a part of the Radio Bible Class “Day of Discovery” broadcast for 10 years and the Wesleyan Hour radio ministry for 20 years. They traveled with international evangelist Clyde Dupin for 20 years.
Throughout their ministry, they have shared the platform with many of today’s most influential ministries, including those of Dr. David Jeremiah, Dr. Charles Colson, Dr. Charles Stanley and the late Dr. D. James Kennedy. They also appear on the Main Stage at the National Quartet Convention in Pigeon Forge, Tenn.
The Webb family today consists of Rick and Phyllis, son Parker and daughter Hannah.
With the holidays over, Altavista-based DAWN needs to restock its shelves. As admission to this event, each person is asked to bring either a can of non-perishable food or a $3 donation for DAWN to support families who need assistance.
A love offering will also be received to help the Webbs with their ministry.
